Nature, in the history of humanity, has healed and hidden scars. This has slowly transpired within the serene waters of Truck Lagoon, the resting place for hundreds of sunken vessels, aircrafts and their ghosts. In 1944 Operation Hailstone struck the central Pacific transforming the lagoon floor into a macabre and haunting graveyard. Today this watery grave is a time capsule within a peaceful flourishing marine ecosystem.

“Sewards imbues her work with a poetic stillness that suggests notions of reflection and passiveness” – Dr Julie Cotter
